Entry Routes to STMP™

There are SIX convenient tracks covering HR professionals from diverse backgrounds and experience. 

While for professionals holding the Bachelor’s degree as their most recent or last qualification, the work history requirements are a little longer, applicants holding a
Master’s or an MBA degree become eligible with slightly shorter work history. Also, applicants holding educational qualifications from TMI-affilaited institutions require lesser work experience to qualify. Please read the details on candidacy in the next section.

Certification process

  • Start by checking if you meet your certification of choice requirements. Make sure to check if you QualiFLY™ for the certification. QualiFLY™ is a requalification program that will fasttrack your application, ease the eligibility requirements and possibly include a fee discount.

  • Once you know you’re eligible for your desired certification, start the application process by creating your myTMI account. You can easily complete your application online through your account. Once you submit the application and fee payment, you’ll receive an email with next step instructions.

  • Your application will be reviewed and validated to ensure you meet eligibility requirements for the STMP™ Certification.
  • After receiving your payment and application validation, we’ll ship your STMP™ Resource Box containing books to prepare for STMP™.
  • With your STMP™ Resource Box, you’re ready to become the next great global HR leader. You can complete the readings at your own pace.
  • TMI gives 180 days from the date of registration confirmation to the applicants to complete their certification journey including passing the STMP™ certification exam.
  • If you pass the STMP™ exam and meet the other conditions defined by the TMI Professional Certifications Board (TPCB), you’re recommended for the award of the STMP™ Credential. You’ll immediately be issued the STMP™ Digital Badge, proving your prowess as a Senior Talent Management Practitioner. You can expect the shipment  of the physical credential pack  to arrive three-four weeks after the award is issued.

With more than 18 years of progressive global experience in international development organizations and collaboration with Ministries of health in Africa, she has lead large teams and turned around People and Culture departments into strategic business partners that become an integral part in achieving business objectives.

She's an Internationally certified professional workplace Mediator and Trainer, certified Professional of Human Resources International and Society of Human Resources Management Certified Professional and a seasoned and active SPHRi and CHRBP Certifications Trainer, International and local Board Director, Board Evaluator and a Transformative leader.

Further to the above, a Fellow at the American Academy of Project Management ( AAPM), a member of the Kenya Institute of Directors Kenya (IoD-K), The Institute of Human Resources Management (IHRM), The Kenya Institute of Management (KIM), MTI East Africa and Karen Toastmasters.

CHRP Dorcas Wainaina OGW

Dorcas Wainaina (OGW) is the Executive Director of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) Kenya, a State Agency established under the Human Resource Management Professionals (HRMP) Act of 2012 to regulate the HR profession in Kenya.

Dorcas Wainaina (OGW) led the Institute of Human Resource Management through a transformative process as the CEO/Executive Director for three years.  She was the first female CEO of the institute after 30 years of its existence. My role provided overall leadership in the regulation of the HR Profession in Kenya. These accomplishments earned her the Order of The Grand Warrior (OGW) decorated by H.E. The President of Kenya in 2018. 

She's currently engaged with World Bank as a Technical Advisor on Organizational HR Transformation.

She an accomplished HR professional with a vast range of demonstrable skills and delivery spanning 20 years. Certified GMTL, SPHRi, CHRA, CHRP, MBA among other HR qualifications and  currently on PhD research. My experience focuses on people management, HR strategy, employee capacity building, organizational review and restructuring and change management. 

She has also worked for various International organizations providing HR leadership in multiple countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Her French speaking skills led her to oversee HR operations in Franco-phone countries.
